Sadness, grief, pain & anger!!!

You can Shed Tears by David Harkins

You can shed tears that he is gone
or you can smile because he lived
You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back
or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left
Your heart can be empty because you can't see him
or you can be full of the love that you have shared
You can turn your back on tomorrow and lived yesterday
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday
You can remember him and only that he is gone
or you can cherish his memory and let it live on
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
or you can do what he would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

A Poem For David and all Grieving Dads

It must be very difficultTo be a man in grief.
Since men don't cryand are supposed to be "strong".
No tears can bring relief
It must be very difficult
to stand up to the test
And field calls and visitors
So she can get some rest.
They'll always ask if she's all right
and what she's going through
But seldom would one take his hand
and ask 'My friend, but how are you?'
He hears her crying in the night
and feel his heart will break
He dries her tears and comforts her,
But stays 'strong' for her sake.
It must be very difficult
to start each day anew
And try to be so very brave
For this baby that they lost
was his very precious baby too.
